Historic Victorian Home in Historic Princess AnneLocated in historic Princess Anne, this charming Victorian was built by James McAllen, a local contractor and mason, in 1894 and remained in his family until 1993 when the current owner bought it from the estate of his daughter, Elinor Webster. While the electrical, plumbing and heating systems have been updated; the house retains most of its original architectural and decorative features including a tiled fireplace in the parlor and several early 20th century light fixtures throughout. The daughter, Elinor Webster closed off a portion of the second floor to provide an apartment for her friend. This area was rented until recently. Now, it may be either rented, used as a mother-in-law suite or once again, a single family home. Very attractive landscaping including a back garden with a garden bench under an arbor of wisteria, fishpond and boxwood that dates to the 1920’s.
