The Waterfront Cottage
(guesthouse)
The waterfront cottage was built in 1942 and could stand as a house
on its own. The plaster two story building features three nice
bedrooms, one of them on the first floor, a living room with wood
burning fireplace, and a waterside sunroom as well as a spacious
kitchen. Wood floors, porch. This building has been extensively
renovated. The work included new heating and central air
conditioning, new wiring, new windows, new disposal, dishwasher,
stove, refrigerator and under-counter lighting; woods floors (Glitza
finish); new kitchen floor, cabinets and counters; complete
renovation of bathroom - with the exception of the bathtub, all
fixtures were replaced.
Carriage House and Pump House
The carriage house consists of a three car garage (2 doors have
electric openers) and a caretaker apartment upstairs. The apartment
features a full bath and kitchen, bedroom and a second room, which
is used as a living room, but could be utilized as a second bedroom.
The building has new windows, new central air/heat pump, new cedar
siding and new wiring. It also features automatic lighting that
comes on at dusk and turns off at dawn. Attached to the Carriage
house is a dog kennel with half bath, washer/dryer, dishwasher,
small refrigerator, raised tub and several outside dog runs.
The beams of the “Pump House” (left structure in photo), whose
original purpose has not quite been determined, date back to around
1810. Today it houses the lawn sprinkler system, electric boxes,
water softener, generator and some garden tools. The cedar siding
has been recently replaced.
