Country Living - Pleasant Setting - Fully Remodeled
Built between 1880 and 1883 for William Henry Ruark,
this cruciform plan house is one of the more substantial dwellings
remaining in Westover and the only one with this formal plan.
The corners of the house are trimmed with paneled pilasters and the
eaves boast paired decorative brackets. Family tradition relates
that after building this house, William H. Ruark left Somerset County
for Norfolk, Virginia and the the house to his brother, Lafayette
Ruark around 1897.
All the charm of a historic Victorian with the comforts of today, the Ruark House has a front parlor, large dining room, renovated country kitchen with small eating area, laundry / utility room with outside entrance and a huge Florida Room addition with vaulted ceiling, skylight, pellet stove and wide windows to take in the views of the rolling landscape, lush lawns and planned gardens.
Outdoors there is a cabana for outside living and entertaining as well as a lighted brick patio and outside shower. Golf course and marina are within 10 minute drive.
Less than 15 minutes from the Town of Princess Anne and the City of Crisfield where shopping, dining, golfing, marina and numerous other opportunities for recreation are located.
